Double Podium at Knockhill

It was a strong weekend for the team at round four of the Dickies British Supersport Championship at Knockhill. Andrew Irwin gained two fantastic second places with Ben Currie securing fourth and fifth places.

Andrew had been consistently fast all weekend during the practice and qualifying sessions. He started from second place on the grid for the opening Sprint race and secured the hole-shot leading for 11 0f the 15 laps. After a hard fought battle with the eventual winner he finished in a great second place.

For race two he started from third place on the grid and once again got an amazing start to lead the race for 25 laps only to be passed on the last corner of the final lap, just missing out on the win by 0.101 second. He is now lying in fourth place in the Championship standings.

Ben worked hard throughout the practice and qualifying sessions to find a good set-up and stated race one in seventh place on the grid. He soon made up a position in the opening lap and gradually worked his way throught the field to finish in a great fourth place.

For race two he was second on the grid, got a good start to maintain his position after the first lap. He was locked in a battle for the final podium place but as in the first race started to suffer with arm-pump but still managed to finish in a creditable fifth place.

In the MCE British Superbike Championship James Westmoreland continued to push hard throughout the weekend improving his times with every session. He started the opening race from 20th position on the grid and finished inside the points in 13th place.  For race two he started from 18th position on the grid and finsihed in the same position.

Team Manager Michael de Bidaph - "I'm really pleased with both Andrew and Ben as they rode really well all weekend.

We managed to find a good set-up for both riders who had really strong pace for the races. Andrew has been so consistent all weekend and ridden very maturely using his head in both races. His maiden win feels so close now and i know he is more than capable of it. Ben was also showing great pace and i was confident of some good results from him but unfortunately bad arm-pump hindered his progress.

We struggled with set-up all weekend with the Superbike for James and the team is working hard to try and help him get some good results in the future. it was good to get some points on the board and we will continue to develop the bike before Snetterton and hopefully get some more points."
