It was tough weekend for the Gearlink Kawasaki team at round two of the MCE British Superbike Championship. Ben Wilson secured 15th and 16th place respectively. In the Motorpoint British Supersport Championship Glenn Irwin gained a great third place in race one and a solid fifith in race two. Luke Hedger was unfortunate not to finish either race due to technical problems.

Ben struggled all weekend to find a good set up at a track that the team have had no previous data for the Superbike. Because of this Ben lost a lot of time in the opening practice sessions. However, he improved his lap times significantly during both races but had to settle for 15th and 16th places.

In the Motorpoint British Supersport Championship Glenn Irwin had a succesful opening race with a great podium finish in third place. Again he was on the pace in the second race finishing in a solid fifth place placing him second overall in the Championship.

Luke unfortunately struggled with technical problems all weekend failing to finish either race despite showing good pace and improving lap times.

Team Manager Michael de Bidaph - "This weekend has been really tough and things have been bad from start to finish except for Glenn's results. Ben was struggling during all the practice sessions with an instability problem and we lost a lot of precious time trying to fix that. Come race day we still had a few set up issues and race one was ok but in race two we suffered further problems. I am disappointed for Kawasaki Motors UK and all our team sponsors for this weekend and looking forward to improving the situation at Snetterton.

I'm so pleased for Glenn in the Supersport class, he has really matured over the winter and has proved this weekend that he can run at the front with the very experienced Supersport racers. He was riding hard in both races and secured a great podium in the first race and showed in the next race that he can run at the front with some confident passes and moves. He is now in second place in the Championship and if he can remain consistent for the remainder of the year will have a very good season.

With Luke, it was very difficult as something was wrong with the bike that we were unable to find, we believe this was a result of the big crash he had at Brands Hatch. We will completely strip the bike down before Snetterton to find out what was causing the issues this weekend and get him back on track. The times he managed were good and he was placed in good positions before both retirements."
