Double Podium at Donington Park

The first round of the long awaited Quattro Group British Supersport Championship took place at the Donington Park National Circuit. The team were keen to make a good start with both James Westmoreland and Ben Currie putting in consistently good times during the practice and qualifying sessions. James qualified in 3rd position with Ben 6th on the grid.

For the first race James and Ben were dicing for podium places with James finishing in a great 2nd place. Unfortunately Ben was forced to retire with a mechanical problem.

The second race saw James in 5th position on the grid with Ben 6th. It was an action packed race with Ben having to start from the back of the grid after the bike stalled just as the lights turned red. After another green flag James stormed into the first corner fighting furiously to keep the pack behind at bay.

Ben was devilish in his manoeuvres as he had to now work his way back up the rankings, with a slight tip onto the green paint, he received time penalties. But he still carried on fighting and his hard work did not go unrewarded as he took the chequered flag in 11th place (7th in class), gaining valuable points.

James brought the Gearlink Kawasaki back in style keeping his position throughout to finish in another podium 2nd place. With two strong second place positions he has got some good solid points in the bag and lying second in the Championship.

Thank you to all our team and rider's personal sponsors and look forward to the nexrt round at Snetterton to continue the fight.

Ready to Race

We have spent the past few weeks preparing for the long awaited #BSBrestart, firstly travelling to Mallory Park for a private test followed by the Officail British Superbike Test at Donington Park.

With both riders having been with the team before everyone was familiar with the set up and could get straight down to business. The official test day saw James Westmoreland just 0.705 off the front runner, firmly securing 3rd place overall with a 1:09.640. Ben Currie was very close behind in 4th with a fastest lap of 1:09.755, just a fraction between them.

Ben and James are confident that they are more than ready to kick off the season, with off track training and conditioning continuing throughout the lackdown period at home.

Ben Currie - "Great to finally be back on my 600 in a proper race environment! Overall I'm happy with where we ended up with the chassis as I ironed out the rustiness, however, there are few teething issues that need to be ironed out if we want to be ready for round one, but I'm confident my team will bounce back and be ready for the victory!."

James Westmoreland - " It was fantastic to be back on track with the rest of the British Championship and a big thank you to everyone involved in making it happen.

I did a few laps of Mallory Park a couple of weeks ago but today was pretty much the first time I've ridden the Gearlink bike since last October, so there is still some work to do.

We kept improving the package despite the conditions and a busy track. I am happy witj P3 for now but we have to keep working hard to step up. I am looking forward to getting the season started."

Team Manager - Arron Philips - The official British Superbike test went well, it was finally good to get out with the rest of the British Supersport class and see how competitive we are this year.

We're fairly happy, however, we know the bike is not where we need it still and there is work to do to catch the front guys. Both riders looked really good and towards the end and felt better on the bike but just feel there is something missing set up wise so we will be working hard at the first round to get this sorted."

Things are looking good for Westy and Ben ahead of Round 1 of BSB this weekend (7-9 August). As you will not be able to see us in action at the track you can catch it all live on Eurosport, highlights on ITV4, or you can catch the live timings on TSL Timings.

We would like to thank all of our sponsors for their continued support, stay safe and we look forward to seeing you all soon.
