Brands Hatch

The team had a steady end to the season despite Ben Wilson and James East both crashing out during the qualifying session for the first race.

Ben Wilson, despite qualifying in ninth place, briefly led the first race finally finishing in seventh but improved his grid position to fifth for race 2. He had another great start and was dicing with the front runners finally finishing in a creditable fifth position.

Ben's team mate, James East, was riding in only his second race meeting for the team and gained his best ever Supersport results finishing 11th in the first race and a strong seventh place in race 2.

Jack Groves riding in the National Superstock 600 championship struggled throughout the weekend managing to salvage 26th place in the race.

" 2012 has been a tough year for the team but we are already working on completing our plans for 2013 and in starting a testing programme ready for the first race at Brands Hatch next year. I would like to thank all our loyal sponsors, our fans and all the Gearlink team for working so hard this year and look forward to adding more sponsors and a new partner for Ben. We have been approached by many top riders which shows that we have become one of the top professional Supersport teams."

Ben Wilson 2013

We are delighted to announce that Gearlink Kawasaki have retained the services of Ben Wilson for the 2013 British Supersport series.

Team Manager Michael de Bidaph - "We are still both committed to winning the British Supersport Championship together. It was agreed before we went to Assen that Ben would stay with Gearlink Kawasaki and after his brilliant win at Silverstone we all know that it was the right decision. I will now be looking for a second rider who will be capable of running at the front in the British Supersport Championship."

Silverstone

Ben Wison and the team had a superb weekend at Silverstone taking their first win of the season. Ben was joined for the meeting by his new team - mate, James East, who had a great debut for the team gaining strong 10th and 11th places.

Ben struggled in practice to get the right set up and was only able to qualify in tenth place. However, he made a great start in the first race and set some fast lap times to gain an impressive fifth place and promotion to fifth place on the grid for the second race. For race two he got a fantastic start and was involved in a thrilling race with five riders all battling for the lead. Ben took the lead on several occasions finally making a break and taking an excellent win for the first time this season to the delight of the spectators cheering him all the way to the finish line.

James East had an impressive debut riding consistently well to achieve two solid results for the team and will remain as Ben's team - mate going into the next round.

Jack Groves, for only his third race for the team, in the Metzeler Superstock Champioship had a steady weekend working his way through the field to achieve 21st place.

A great weekend for the team and just reward for all the hard work put in and provides a massive boost going into the final round at Brands Hatch.
