A win and a Podium at Oulton Park

Mason Law secured his first ever win in his debut year at round 9 in the Dickies British Supersport Championship at Oulton Park. He followed it up in the second race with a brilliant second place. His team-mate Andrew Irwin, despite riding injured gained sixth and seventh places.

Throughout the weekend Mason was near the top of the time sheets and he was keen to make a strong start in race one having qualified in fourth place. He got a fantastic start and led after lap one. He totally controlled and dominated the race from start to finish and rode an incredible race to take his first ever win in the Championship.

In race two he started from second place on the grid holding this position until lap seven when he made a great pass on the leader, Brad Ray. Gradually the pair of them built up a commanding lead over the rest of the pack with both riding strongly and Ray just in the lead on the last lap. However, Mason looked totally in control for a last lap overtake when he sufferred a small technical problem and had to coast home for a fantastic second place.

Andrew Irwin was still suffering after being taken out at the previous round at Cadwell Park when he sustained broken ribs. Oulton Park is an extremely technical circuit and physically demanding. Andrew rode through the pain throughout the weekend and was also riding well. In race one he started from eighth place on the grid and after lap one was soon into fourth place but the pain got the better of him and he was able to finish in a very good sixth place.

For race two he started from seventh place on the grid and finished in a very creditable seventh place.

In the MCE British Superbike Championship Vittorio Iannuzzo had a tough weekend and had to pull in with a technical problem in race one. For race two he started from 30th place on the grid and finished in 22nd. For race three he started from 28th place on the grid and finished in 21st place.

Team Manager Michael de Bidaph - " It was a big come back for the team here at Oulton Park. Mason was impeccable all weekend and we hardly made any changes from Cadwell Park as he was on the pace from the start.

He showed his true talent this weekend and we could not be more pleased for him with the results he achieved. It was unfortunate that in the second race he had a small technical problem on the last lap as it was looking likely he was going to achieve a well deserved double victory. To achieve a win and a second place is still a fantastic result and we know what we can do to achieve the same results for the rest of the season.

Andrew really dug deep this weekend as he was in a lot of pain from his ribs and shoulder yet fought on without any complaints. He listened all weeked and finished both races with some solid points. He did a brilliant job considering his injuries.

Vittorio made some good progress and good to see him having a few track battles and getting stuck in pushing him a bit further up the field."
